A Little self expression
Damaged Goods is a small label that I started in my free time to flex my creative muscles and work to develop a line of clothing that speaks to the softer, inner workings of people. I wanted to find a way to bridge the gap between the tough-guy street aesthetics of the streetwear and action sports brand while telling softer human stories in a cheeky and approachable way. I have printed up a few of these graphics for personal wear and am hoping to spin this up into a more legitimate offering in the future!
Softgoods for soft people
This graphic was inspired by cross stitch patterns and aims to speak to the fact that we’ve all seen hard times and we all have healed from a lot. There was some inspiration from the first aid cross as well with the roated red x’s for the stitches.
Handle With Care
This hoodie was inspired in color and content by the styling and attitude of workwear. The space shouts confidence, skill, and craft. For the graphic I wanted to call directly to the feeling of impostor syndrome and just figuring it out as you go, an paired with the look of workwear subverts the apparent mastery of craft.
I have no idea
This piece takes its aesthetic inspiration from vintage signpainting. I wanted to explore that mix of handcrafted charm with the precision lettering requires. The content is more an ode to the little bit of insanity we all feel sometimes.
Unhinged
This piece was inspired by my trip to Paris in 2024. It was a more rough and tumble experience of the city of lights, as I went to go skateboarding with my friends. While skating one night we happened upon a guy fishing in a canal, and he pulled out a crazy two foot long fish. The call out “Paris is for Lovers” paired with the photos of the fish is meant to be an absurdist take on the expectations of the city in popular culture paired with my actual experience of the place.
Lovers
This is a more personal piece to me. It is a mantra I carry with me that came to me during one of my favorite yoga classes. The graphic is a geometric piece inspired by mandalas and sacred geometry (without being a direct execution of said geometry).
